Prosecutors say Sandeson shot and killed Samson for the drugs to help him pay off $78,000 in debt he had run up on a line of credit over the previous two years. Sandeson’s trial began Jan. 9 in Nova Scotia Supreme Court in Dartmouth. The jury heard from the final witness Monday. “We say that the evidence is clear that he did not have that intent. At the very least, there is a reasonable doubt that he did. Rather, Mr. Sandeson defended himself.”
