Lawmakers physically attending President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address on July 27 will have to undergo both RT-PCR and rapid tests to detect COVID-19.
House Deputy Secretary General for Administration Department Dr. Ramon Ricardo Roque told reporters Wednesday that the two tests are prerequisites for guests and technical staff who will be at the Batasang Pambansa for SONA.
“’Pag nag-positive kahit saan, out na. ‘Yung principals, wala silang kapalit. Pero yung technical staff, may kapalit sila. Yung alternates ng technical staff, is-swab din sila," he said in a press briefing on the House of Representatives’ preparations for SONA. House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said the number of lawmakers and House officials present at the session hall will be limited to 25. Those present at the opening of the session will be the same persons who will listen to Duterte’s speech live.
