With St-Germain's victory, Canada's total of four medals is its most ever at any one alpine world ski championship.
“I’ve dreamed of this,” said St-Germain. “I’m still not sure that I believe it, but it feels amazing. I felt good this morning but never expected anything like this. I was pretty nervous at the top for my second run, but we had a good plan. The course for the second run was set up so we could go a little faster, so I stuck to the plan and kept telling myself to keep pushing all the way down.
“It’s been such a great world championship for Canada,” said St-Germain. “Seeing my teammates get a medal in the team parallel, Jack’s gold and Cam’s bronze, they all really inspired me.” “Someone asked me earlier today if I was surprised. No, but absolutely delighted and very proud of the team. “What I will say is we’re not doing it like they are,” Brisson said of the European powers. “We can’t. We’re having to take a real Canadian approach. We can’t have huge teams. But we do have outstanding leaders and we have athletes who work very hard. I think the best is very much yet to come.”
