Australia and Las Vegas Aces centre Liz Cambage is expected to miss the 2020 Women's National Basketball Association season, Aces General Manager Dan Padover said in a statement.
The Aces did not specify why Cambage would miss out but the 28-year-old's agent Allison Galer told the Associated Press that the decision was due to underlying medical conditions that could put her at greater risk from COVID-19.The WNBA is set to begin its 2020 season in late July amid the novel coronavirus pandemic with games to be played without fans present at a single site in Florida.
"Liz is a generational talent, and we are going to miss her this year on the court and in the locker room," Padover said in a statement late on Saturday. "Although Liz won't be with us in Florida, she has our full support, and will continue to be a part of the Aces family and the city of Las Vegas for many years to come."
