The Las Piñas City government is offering free human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination in efforts to safeguard the health of young women in the city against cervical cancer. READ:
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the HPV vaccination drive, an initiative of the City Health Office , aims to protect young women, aged 9 to 12, against cervical cancer.She stressed the importance of HPV vaccination during the preteen years, as this age group typically exhibits a robust immune response to the vaccine, providing optimal protection against HPV strains that could lead to potential health issues later in life.
The mayor said the invitation extends to parents whose daughters have not yet received the HPV vaccine and who have not received any other vaccines in the past month. Aguilar encouraged parents to bring their children's immunization records to the designated vaccination centers to ensure the accurate documentation of their child's vaccination history.
The CHO is inviting parents from District 1 to register their daughters at the catchment health centers on July 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Pamplona Elementary School. Those living in District II may register their daughters at Talon Uno Elementary School from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
