THE Lapu-Lapu City Government broke ground on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, for the construction of Phase 5 of the city’s new district hospital. Funded by the office of Lone District Rep. Cynthia “Cindi” King Chan with a budget of P25 million, the project will add a five-story building to existing hospital facilities. Construction for the new building began on Sept. 19, 2024, and is being undertaken by ZLREJ Trading and Construction Corp.
The project, he said, fulfills a campaign promise to improve the city’s public hospital.“What was once only a single floor is now a five-story building, allowing us to serve more people and provide upgraded services that are now closer to those of a private hospital,” Mayor Chan said in a Facebook post.
