A clarification of last Friday\u0027s emergency alert issued by the provincial police agency was issued Tuesday.

In the OPP clarification of events released on Tuesday, police said the Lanark County OPP received information from the Smiths Falls Police Service about a a stolen vehicle on Friday morning. OPP located the vehicle travelling northbound on Highway 15 in Beckwith Township and stopped it just outside Smiths Falls using a spike belt. The 26-year-old driver was the only person in the vehicle. He was arrested.
But the clarification provided by OPP on Tuesday raised more questions that have yet to be answered. The two men remain at large and wanted by police. However, OPP have not re-released their names and photographs.Article content She added that the reason the men were wanted was unrelated to Friday’s alert, but could not say what they were wanted for.
