Vice presidential bet Sara Duterte-Carpio takes a bow before thousands of her supporters during a campaign rally at the Guiguinto Municipal Arena in Bulacan.Local officials led by Vice Gov. Whilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, who is running for governor, and Guiguinto Mayor Ambrocio Cruz, who is running for Congress, organized the event in support of the UniTeam Alliance.

“UniTeam’s celebration of International Women’s Day here in Bulacan is significant because one of the Filipinas who has helped a lot in our independence is from the province of Bulacan, Trinidad Tecson,” she said.In urging women to go into business, Duterte-Carpio cited Davao City’s business development project “Magnegosio Ta Dai” under her leadership.

As this developed, Duterte-Carpio and her presidential candidate, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed to support and expedite the country’s adoption of nuclear power if they are elected into office in the coming May 9 national elections. The tandem believes that incorporating nuclear power in the Philippines’ energy mix would lower electricity rates and help secure a steady power source.
