House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Tuesday administered the oath of membership to Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez and seven other officials in the province after they joined Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats .As Lakas-CMD president, Romualdez administered the oath of membership to the new members in the presence of officials of the party and the House of Representatives.
He expressed gratitude that Hernandez and his officials “chose to align themselves with Lakas-CMD and the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas in support of President Marcos and his administration.”- Advertisement - The leader of the 300-plus-strong House of Representatives said he expects more local executives to join the party and the administration coalition as the May 2025 elections near.Joining Hernandez in affiliating themselves with Lakas-CMD were Board Member Magtanggol Jose Carait III, Mayor Dwight Kampitan, Vice Mayor RJ Kampitan, and Councilors Florencio Laraño, Homer Herradura, Analyn Nava, and John Paul Pahutan, all of Victoria town.
Former Victoria officials John Patrick S. Cambe and Lester Rebong likewise took their oath of membership. Hernandez and his colleagues were the latest batch of local government officials to join Lakas-CMD. More than 30 mayors, vice mayors, and councilors from Bulacan and Bukidnon took oath on Monday.
