Partido Reporma standard bearer Senator Panfilo M. Lacson on Friday, Oct. 29 said random drug testing should be conducted on candidates in the 2022 elections for them to be more credible.

‘’I have never been addicted to drugs all my life, so I have no problem with that. I understand drug toxins may dissipate after 72 hours,’’ Lacson, a former Philippine National Police chief, said.

Lacson’s fellow presidential aspirant, Ronald ‘’Bato’’ dela Rosa, said agrees with the drug testing idea. Dela Rosa pointed out that while security guards who secure properties at establishments are required to undergo drug testing, why can’t a President who is the father of the nation undergo such tests?

Dela Rosa, also a former PNP chief, is the presidential bet of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino -Laban Cusi faction. Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III, former Dangerous Drugs Board chief, said he placed that in the law he authored, RA 9165, the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.‘’I do it voluntarily instead every elections,’’ he added.
