MANILA, Philippines — All is well under the tough love coaching style of head coach Ramil De Jesus as four De La Salle University Lady Spikers arched their arrows proudly after being the top picks in the historic night of the first-ever Premier Volleyball League 2024 Rookie Draft last Monday night, July 9, at the Novotel Hotel in Quezon City. Thea Gagate made history as she was top of the class of 2024 with ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles sealing the prized gunner.
Not only did Gagate shine that night, and carried the words of coach De Jesus.The Capital 1 Solar Spikers chose Leila Cruz as their No. 2 overall pick. The La Salle spiker, fully recovered from an ACL injury, is ready to redeem herself and looks forward to benefiting from the veteran coaching of Roger Gorayeb.'I am super excited, and I am so happy to be handled by both coaches since both of them are veterans when it comes to volleyball. I am super grateful, and I am kind of shocked.
