KKD believes that the 5G network's expansion will further lower the price for consumers 👀 KKD DNB TechNave

ts Deputy Minister, Teo Nie Ching further revealed that this price can be further lowered with the expansion of the 5G network in our country.

Speaking in Parliament on Monday , Nie Ching clarified that Digital Nasional Berhad , the body responsible for Malaysia’s 5G network development implements a reference cost offer at RM30,000 per Gbps per month or 13 sen per GB. Hence, KKD believes that through the expansion of 5G network coverage, the prices can be lowered further for consumers.

The KKD Deputy Minister added that the current implementation level of 5G services is at 54.7 per cent. Moreover, the Ministry is confident that its 80 per cent coverage for populated areas by the end of the year can be achieved. Nie Ching asserted that currently, the price of basic internet data, calls and SMS in Malaysia is the third cheapest in the ASEAN region, behind Singapore and Brunei. As for 5G services, for now, service providers are adopting a neutral technology concept in offering prices with no difference between 5G and 4G services.
