UPDATE: The lowest storm alert has been lifted from the northern portion of Cagayan but it remained over the rest of Babuyan Islands, PAGASA says in its 5p.m. bulletin
After its landfall in Ivana, Batanes, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, the typhoon was detected moving over the coastal waters of Itbayat, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its 5 p.m. bulletin
The rest of Batanes is also still under Signal No. 3, where destructive typhoon-force winds may occur within 18 hours, PAGASA said. The lowest storm alert has been lifted from the northern portion of Cagayan but it remained over the rest of Babuyan Islands. These areas may experience strong winds within 36 hours.
Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains are also likely over Babuyan Islands, the northern portion of Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, and Benguet.
