FINANCE Secretary Ralph Recto hailed the signing of agreements for five public-private partnership transportation projects as a monumental Christmas gift to Filipinos .On Dec. 18, 2024, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. witnessed the signing of the Concession Agreement between the Department of Transportation and Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. for the Bohol-Panglao International Airport.
These agreements aim to boost private sector participation in PPP projects.Additionally, the Civil Works Contract Package for the New Cebu International Container Port was awarded to HJ Shipbuilding Corp. Co. Ltd.'These projects are a win for the economy, tourism, and the environment, creating jobs and reducing poverty,' Recto said.He emphasized the transformative impact of new and improved airports, enhanced maritime infrastructure, and a climate-friendly bus system.
