MANILA , Philippines – “The closure of our Jupiter branch doesn’t mean the end of Kaya Korean Restaurant.” Despite the permanent shutdown of Kaya Korean Restaurant’s first branch along Jupiter Street, Makati City, the household name reassures its patrons that the brand is here to stay.
Kaya Korean Restaurant opened its first outlet in Metro Manila in 1993, which is now set to close its doors on January 1, 2025, as announced on December 14. A pioneering authentic Korean restaurant in the country, its closure marks the end of a memorable chapter for loyal customers and multi-generational families who grew up dining in the homey establishment. “It has been our pleasure to serve our regular customers for the past 30 years,” Kaya’s management told Rappler. “We understand that those who have been dining in with us since they were kids have a lot of memories dining out with their parents and grandparents in this specific branch,” Kaya added. Many families frequented the nostalgic restaurant for Sunday lunches and special celebrations, while solo diners or groups of friends would head to Kaya Jupiter for a comforting meal after work.Moving forward, the company said that they remain “committed to continually grow and to create new opportunities to be able to cater to more customers.” For now, Kaya encourages customers to dine at its other branches in Alabang Westgate, Rockwell Powerplant, Glorietta 2, Glorietta 4, Estancia Mall, Robinsons Magnolia, Podium Corner Market, and Tagaytay Highlands. “Since all Kaya branches are 100% direct management (not franchised), we can assure our patrons that we will be able to provide the same food quality and service at our other branches,” Kaya sai
