Kamal Adli's attacker remanded another week for psychiatric evaluation

On March 12, Singapore Police Force was alerted to a case where the suspect had allegedly assaulted Kamal with a baton.

According to District Judge Terence Tay, there is an application from the IMH for the remand to be extended for the completion of the examination.

On March 14, the court ruled the man to be remanded for two weeks to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the institute.Earlier, when asked what language he likes to speak in, he replied"English”. The man appeared via a video link believed to be from the IMH. If convicted, the offence of voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon under Section 324 of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term which may extend to"seven years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.”
