Tropical Depression Julian is expected to intensify and may reach tropical storm category Saturday morning as it moves south southwestward over Philippine Sea east of Babuyan Islands, PAGASA said.In its 11 p.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, the state weather bureau said Signal No.
"Julian is moving south southwestward at 20 kilometers per hour with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h.The center of the eye was estimated at 400 km east southeast of Basco, Batanes."Julian is forecast to follow a looping path over the waters east of Batanes and Cagayan in the next five days. In the next 24 hours, the tropical cyclone is forecast to move south southwestward to west southwestward while decelerating," PAGASA said.
