DUNEDIN, Fla. – It starts up top with the platinum blond hairstyle, a look Jose Berrios is rocking in support of his Puerto Rico teammates for next month’s…
“Last year, I was here for my teammates but I want to bring more to the table for my team,” Berrios said on Saturday. “I’ve been working hard to be better as a pitcher, as an athlete, as a human. Now we have to figure out how to compete and help my team get as many wins as they can.”
“It was tough,” Berrios said. “No one who is a competitive guy wants to be like that. The one thing I proved is that I never gave up – from Day 1ne to the last day. I just kept working and keep making adjustments. Now I have a new opportunity with a new year and a new season.” Besides the technical alterations, Berrios worked on his confidence, an area that he admitted was lacking when he couldn’t shake his inconsistencies. When things went awry early in a game, his confidence waned to the point that every batter that came to the plate started feeling like an MVP candidate.Article content
