TNT interim coach Jojo Lastimosa credited NBA veteran Rondae Hollis-Jefferson for making the big sacrifice in order to put the clamps on Barangay Ginebra resident import Justin Brownlee, which enabled the Tropang Giga to score a 95-82 win in Game Two on Wednesday night.
The victory sent their 2022-23 PBA Governors' Cup best-of-seven title series back to square one. Ginebra drew first blood by beating TNT, 102-90 in Game One on Easter Sunday.'I told Rondae at halftime that even if he doesn't score that much, for as long as Brownlee doesn't score, other guys are going to pick up the scoring. He did some scoring in the second half which was a good thing.
Brownlee, the 34-year-old three-time PBA Best Import, went 0-of-5 from three-point zone, putting his 77-game streak with at least one three-point shot made since the 2019 Governors' Cup.Hollis-Jefferson managed to finish with 23 points, 19 rebounds and nine assists, putting in the near triple-double effort against Ginebra.'I just want to win,' stressed the TNT import. 'Jolas knows this about me. Even if I didn't score, I want to win, so he made me guard Justin the whole game.
