JOHOR BARU: The state government has declared Monday (April 24) as an additional public holiday in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, says Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
Onn Hafiz said that this is made in accordance with Section 8 and Section 9 of the Holidays Act 1951 .
"As we know, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that either Friday or Monday as a public holiday for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, depending on the date the festival falls on. "With the consent of Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, we are glad to announce that the Johor state government has agreed to declare Monday as an additional public holiday," he said in a statement here.
Onn Hafiz also conveyed his Hari Raya greetings in the statement, which was also posted on his Facebook."Be careful on the road and everyone have a safe journey back to their hometowns," he said.
