When rising actor John Arcenas was selected to portray OPM icon April Boy Regino in the upcoming biopic Idol, he described the moment as one of disbelief.

“April Boy is extremely iconic, especially with his songs, which are still very well-known even in this generation. So, there’s a huge amount of pressure and responsibility as well,” he said. “Since I got the role, I studied everything carefully, from how he sings to how he moves. I even took voice lessons to replicate his vocal style and practiced his signature shoulder movements. He’s very iconic, and I wanted to do justice to his legacy,” the actor explained.
