Korean singer-rapper Jessi issued a public apology following a recent controversy involving a teenage fan who was assaulted by one of her acquaintances.
The controversy began when a young fan accused Jessi of not taking responsibility for the actions of her friends. According to the fan, the assault occurred after a confrontation involving Jessi’s acquaintances. The fan claimed that Jessi was present at the scene but left when the situation escalated. This sparked outrage and criticism directed at Jessi for her perceived lack of accountability.In her latest statement on Wednesday, Oct.
“First of all I would like to express my apology to the victim and his family who suffered due to this incident,” said Jessi. “Even though the incident was caused by me, I have hurt a lot of people, including the victim, with my wrong actions, attitude, and lack of response from the time the incident occurred until now. I made them feel betrayed and angry,” she continued.
She later expressed that she’s reflecting her actions and admitted that she could have done more to prevent the assault. “All of this is my responsibility. I know I can’t be forgiven with one message. However, I’ll try to correct my mistake and help the victim recover. It’s too late, but I apologize again. I did wrong,” she ended.
