Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will address a special joint session of Congress on Saturday, November 4, 2023, the first for a sitting Japanese leader and the first special session held since 2006.
Kishida will deliver his speech at 11 a.m. at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.In an earlier statement, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said the visit of Kishida will usher in a 'new pathway' for collaboration and development between the Philippines and Japan.
He added that the House of Representatives will exert efforts to ensure that the visit of the official will be 'fruitful and memorable.''We are optimistic that through our discussions, new pathways for collaboration and development will emerge, promising enhanced opportunities and a brighter future for all Filipinos, here and in Japan,' Romualdez said.
