BREAKING: The House January 6 committee’s final report describes a Donald Trump 'conspiracy' and says none of that day's events would have happened without him.

The congressional committee probing the US Capitol riots has released its damning final report concluding that former president Donald Trump was the “central cause” of the 2021 attack that led to multiple deaths and injuries.

Among them was his lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who oversaw efforts to put forward a “fake electors scheme” to flip the votes in states that Trump lost; Oath Keepers militia group boss Steward Rhodes who has since been convicted over his months-long plot to prevent President Joe Biden’s inauguration; and Julie Fancelli, an heiress to US supermarket chain Publix, who was willing to fork out $US3 million to finance protest activity relating to January 6.

Ultimately, however, Trump was responsible for the Capitol riots, the committee concluded after a probe involving 1000 interviews, more than a million documents, countless confidential tips and 10 televised public hearings.“Evidence has led to an overriding and straight-forward conclusion: the central cause of January 6th was one man, former President Donald Trump, who many others followed,” they wrote.
