After nine public hearings, the US House committee investigating the attack on the Capitol releases its long-awaited final report, concluding 'none of the events of January 6th would have happened without' Donald Trump.
The committee outlines in its summary, and further in Chapter 8 of the report, what it describes asThe January 6 committee's final report details the former president's movements before, during and after the riot in Washington DC.
Mr Trump's official photographer then snapped a photo of the former president looking slightly stunned at the news, which the report said was "the last [picture] permitted until later in the day".The committee heard White House staff then cooperated to produce a message for Mr Trump to deliver to the rioters, which he declined to make.
"Not at the Pentagon, nor at the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, the FBI, the Capitol Police Department, or the DC Mayor's office. Those include the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide who delivered a dramatic account of Donald Trump raging in the presidential vehicle when Secret Service agents refused to take him to the Capitol on January 6.
It labelled Ms McEnany "evasive, as if she was testifying from pre-prepared talking points" and noted Ms Trump was "not as forthcoming" as others, including White House lawyer Pat Cipollone, about her father's conduct.
