JAMES YAP returns to the Philippine Basketball Association after he signed a one-conference contract on Friday with Rain or Shine.He will be back in an Elasto Painter uniform for the Governors’ Cup set to begin late this month.

Yap, 40, last played in 2021 in the Philippines Cup bubble in Bacolor, Pampanga, under former Rain or Shine coach Chris Gavina. He averaged 7.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in the conference. Despite being in the sidelines in most games under returning coach Yeng Guiao, Yap has been joining practices in season 47.

Rain or Shine team governor Atty Momerto Mondragon didn’t reveal the details of the former MVP Yap’s contracts. The 18-year veteran and seven-time champion said that he would balance his work as councilor and a professional player.
