MANILA, Philippines: A trough of a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is affecting some areas in Mindanao where scattered rain showers and thunderstorms would be likely within 24 hours, the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday.

Specifically, Torres said the extension of the LPA is bringing overcast skies with scattered downpours and thunderstorms over Davao Region, Cotabato and Sarangani.'But this LPA has a very slim chance to enter PAR and develop into a tropical cyclone,' she said.Generally, the Pagasa forecaster said fair weather conditions would be experienced, especially in most areas in Luzon due to the ridge of HPA.
