The LTO papers suggest that
We’ve been begging Ford Philippines to bring in the Ranger Raptor with a twin-turbo V6 for quite some time already. Besides, who wouldn’t say no to a high-performance off-roader with nearly 400hp under the hood?
As we wait for an official answer, it seems that the company is brewing up something else. Something even wilder and more extreme than the Ranger Raptor. Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we’ll be getting the Ford F-150 Raptor.New fines for lack of tollway RFID and insufficient load deferred to October 1, 2024At least that’s hinted by the latest batch of homologation papers from the Land Transportation Office . And yes, we made sure it really said F-150 on the file and not Ranger.
That could also mean that it will be the first time the Ford F-150 Raptor will be officially made available in the country. Ever since the first-generation Raptor model came out in 2010, we’ve been seeing several examples of this pickup on the road, all of which being grey market units. So, what can we expect from this beast? Based on the LTO file, we’ll be getting the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 version. There’s a 5.0-liter V8 also available, but it looks like we won’t be getting that locally.
Looking at the Ford Philippines website, there are no hints of the full-sized high-performance truck just yet. But the fact that there is approval of this pickup to be sold locally from the LTO is of interest. It’s also one heck of a way to expand Ford’s local performance vehicle lineup.
