Four passengers in the sedan died at the scene, while the driver was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.He is expected to undergo surgery later today. Acting Assistant Commissioner at Victoria Police Justin Goldsmith told ABC Radio Melbourne anyone in a collision of that nature would be in "an enormous amount of shock."
"It's not a busy area, it's got traffic signs, so something has clearly gone awry and that's going to be the subject of the investigation as to how those two cars have collided," he said.
