Queenslander Alan Dare has been remembered as someone who was "always there to help" even in his final hours.

The 58-year-old died after going to investigate gunshots at a neighbouring property in Wieambilla, when he was fatally shot along with constables Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold. His family and friends said their final goodbyes at an emotional service at the Centenary Memorial Gardens in Brisbane's south West on Friday.Queenslander Alan Dare has been remembered as someone who was "always there to help" even in his final hours.

His wife and family travelled in Ford Cobra XC's which was Dare's favourite car.READ MORE:A convoy of more than 50 classic cars followed behind and stretched from suburb to suburb.His daughter fought back tears and tried to find the words to describe the man she looked up to so much."We're always going to be there, we're always going to look after mum."
