A 66-year-old man, wrongly accused of being a general manager in a drug smuggling case, has been detained for two years. He yearns for freedom and to reunite with his family, especially his youngest son with special needs.
A 66-year-old man, known as 'Tatay Muks,' has been detained for two years for a crime he claims he did not commit. Due to his age, he fears he may not see his loved ones again, especially his youngest son who has special needs due to vision problems. On the program 'Good News,' Tatay Muks stated that he only completed elementary school and cannot write. His previous occupation was carpentry.
To his surprise, he received a subpoena accusing him of being the general manager in a smuggling case involving illegal drugs. Tatay Muks faced the authorities to deny the accusations, but the case progressed until he was detained at the Metro Manila District Jail in Taguig while the hearing continued. Inside the prison, Tatay Muks reportedly acted as a father figure to younger inmates (PDLs). According to Jail Officer Anelisa Nabutil, the records and disciplinary officer, Tatay Muks is respected by other PDLs, and he has shown good behavior inside the detention facility. Although his options within the prison are limited, Tatay Muks expresses gratitude for the small comforts he experiences. He can jog upstairs, watch TV, and eat, but he cannot simply leave to go home and be with his family. Tatay Muks constantly thinks of his loved ones, especially his wife and youngest son with special needs. Since their house is far away, he is not always visited. His dream is for the case to end and for him to be released from prison. He also wishes to be with his family and hug his youngest son, who believes he is on vacation. Tatay Muks is asked by his son when his vacation will end so they can be together again
