An unidentified suspect fired shots at Infanta, Quezon Mayor Filipina Grace America while she was inside a car, Governor Danilo Suarez told GMA News Online on Sunday.“There was an attempt on the life of the mayor of Infanta, Mayor Grace America,” he said.In a Super Radyo dzBB report of Rod Vega, Police Regional Office 4A Regional Director Police Brigadier General Antonio Yarra said America came from church on Sunday morning and was about to ride the vehicle around 11 a.m.

Suarez said that America is now waiting in a hospital in Infanta to be airlifted to a medical facility in Manila. "Wala akong alam kung sino-sino gustong manakit kay Grace eh but [baka] political enemy 'yan," he said.Suarez said will post updates on Facebook regarding the condition of the mayor.on Twitter showing that the shots were fired at the right front window of the mayor's vehicle.
