Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said preparations are now in full swing, including the finalization of a consignment agreement for rice supply, which is currently under review by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and the organization of logistics to deliver the rice efficiently to distribution sites.The province aims to distribute P20 per kilo rice through Kadiwa Centers, with a focus on families with undernourished children.
“This is part of our broader plan to link agriculture and nutrition,” said Defensor, explaining that the rice distribution supports not only immediate food access but also the province’s hybrid rice program and the SiPag at TiyaGa for MoRProGRes sa Bagong Pilipinas strategy for food and health security.
As preparations continue, Defensor reiterated that the success of the program will rely on strong coordination between provincial offices and national agencies.
