The alert level for a Philippine volcano was raised after an"explosive eruption" sent a plume of ash, gas and steam five kilometers into the sky, the volcanology agency said.
“We plan to meet with them to discuss further the possible scenarios should the activity of Mt. Kanlaon continue. Right now, we are on Level 2, and we hope it will not worsen,” she said.
