IN A successful series of operations, the Philippine Army's 61st Infantry Battalion recovered two caches of weapons and explosives belonging to the Communist Terrorist Group or Communist New People's Army Terrorist in Iloilo province within the past week. The most recent discovery occurred on May 23, 2024, in Barangay Bagsakan, Alimodian, Iloilo.
Major General Marion Sison, Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, commended both former CTG members for their cooperation and the role they played in these successful recoveries. 'The strong collaboration of every member of society has given hope to our former rebels, helping them recognize the sincerity of the government in offering them a chance to renew their lives.
