Ballet Philippines presents the well-loved ' Peter Pan ' for its Christmas offering from Dec. 6 to 8.During its recent press conference I had an exclusive interview with principal danseur Ian Ocampo .Ian Ocampo is a product of the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet syllabus . He began his classical training at 13 years old under Vella Damian. For further training he joined the Quezon City Ballet under Shirley Halili-Cruz.
How did you prepare for the role of Peter Pan, and what challenges did you encounter while portraying the character?I read the Peter Pan book and watched the movie to better understand the character and how to bring him to life. However, the biggest challenge for me was making it feel natural to portray a boy, especially since I had previously taken on more mature roles on stage. I also watched the movie where Robin Williams played Peter Pan, and it inspired me.
