It’s the first in its class to receive a certificate of compliance
Amid the ongoing transport strike this week, the Land Transportation Office is celebrating its 112th founding anniversary with the LTO Motor Show, happening at its main office on East Avenue, Quezon City. On display are the new advancements in electrification as well as modern public utility vehicles under the government’s PUV Modernization Program.
Hyundai Trucks and Buses is participating in the event by showcasing the Hyundai HD50s GT, touted as the first vehicle in the Class 4 category of modern PUVs to receive a Certificate of Compliance from the Department of Transportation .The HD50 S GT is powered by a Euro 4-compliant 2.9-liter turbodiesel engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Peak output figures are 158hp and 392Nm of torque.
Inside, the vehicle is equipped with forward-facing seats for 22 passengers and offers more space and legroom versus models in the lower modern PUV classifications. Because this class of PUV is meant to service longer routes, there’s also a 352-liter cargo compartment in the back.To allow for full configuration, optional accessories include LED signage, a seven-inch monitor, automated fare collection, and monitoring and tracking features like CCTV, GPS, and on-board camera, and Wi-Fi.
Before being granted Class 4 compliance certification last year, HTB had already received Class 1 and 2 certification in 2019, followed by Class 3 certification in 2020.
