Scammers seem to be everywhere these days, and now, they have set their sights on K-pop concerts.
, South Korean agency SM Entertainment and HYBE's sub-labels warned the public of a fraudulent ad circulating online that falsely promised a K-pop Asian tour later this year with some of their talents, including NCT Dream and SEVENTEEN.The fraudulent ad alleged that the concert titled "Fest World Tour" would take place in Asian countries such as Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia, with additional stops to be announced later.
SM Entertainment, PLEDIS Entertainment, and BELIFT LAB all announced that their artists were not participating in the so-called event. They added that they will protect their artist's right, and they would be taking legal action against the unlawful use of their artists’ names. "Please request for a refund to the event organizer immediately if you have already purchased tickets to the above event. Our company does not hold responsibility for any damages occurred by this event as it is an unauthorized event," said PLEDIS' statement.—Kimberly Tsao/JCB, GMA Integrated News
