How to end the minimum wage fight
ONCE again, the Philippines is mired in a battle over mandated minimum wages, a battle that we can count on flaring up at least once or twice during every legislative session. No one is ever satisfied with the results, and they will not be satisfied with the results of the debate over the latest proposals from the House of Representatives and Senate.
Thus, it is forced into a thankless position in which it must try to do math using politics. With all due respect to President Marcos, we are quite certain the latter will have more weight than the former in the 'careful study' to be applied when the wage bill arrives at his office. We have a suggestion that may end the fight over minimum wages once and for all.
