For emerging economies like India and the Philippines, where youth under 25 years old comprise over 50 percent of the population, AI is not optional — it is imperative. At present, India hosts over 280 million learners across its vast education system , while the Philippines has 30 million students in basic and tertiary levels .
In India, the Nipun Bharat initiative now integrates AI to help early grade teachers identify and support slow learners via voice recognition and behavioral pattern analysis. In the Philippines, AI is being used in teacher training programs, such as the National Educator's Academy, to deliver customized micro-learning modules. This is crucial, since over 60 percent of Filipino teachers reported difficulty adapting to digital tools post-Covid-19. AI bridges the gap.
