The House Tri Committee said Sunday it has invited at least 40 social media personalities as resource persons in its first public hearing to investigate massive disinformation campaigns next week.
Fernandez underscored the need to protect Filipinos from false information intended to mislead and divide. The list included known political influencers such as Malou Tiquia, Lorraine Badoy-Partosa, Jose Yumang Sonza, Krizette Lauretta Chu, Mark Anthony Lopez, Allan Troy ‘Sass’ Rogando Sasot, MJ Quiambao Reyes, Vivian Zapata Rodriguez, Ethel Pineda, Jeffrey Almendras Celiz, among others.
Fernandez said the inquiry seeks to identify weaknesses in existing laws and policies governing digital platforms and to propose solutions ensuring the public has access to accurate and reliable information.
