Representative Rodante Marcoleta raises concerns over the exclusion of his name from the SWS senatorial preferences survey while including individuals not running for office.

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) is facing scrutiny from the House of Representatives over its recent senatorial preferences survey. Representative Rodante Marcoleta of Sagip Party-list raised concerns during a joint hearing of the Committees on Public Order and Safety, Information and Communications Technology, and Public Information, alleging that the SWS excluded his name from the list while including individuals who are not running for Senate or are relatively unknown.

This exclusion resulted in Marcoleta ranking 36th in the survey, despite not being included in the initial list of 40 potential candidates. \Marcoleta argued that the inclusion of individuals with limited public recognition and those not seeking political office skewed the results, potentially misleading the public. He highlighted the presence of names like Jerome Adonis of Kilusang Mayo Uno, Jocelyn Andamo of Filipino Nurses United, Ronel Arambulo of Pamalakaya, Mimi Doringo of Kadamay, Roy Cabonegro of Makakalikasan, Mody Floranda of PISTON, and Danilo Ramos of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas on the survey list. He also pointed out the inclusion of prominent figures who are not running for the Senate in 2025, such as former President Rodrigo Duterte, former senator Franklin Drilon, former vice president Leni Robredo, and Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro. \Marcoleta emphasized that while he did not demand inclusion, the discrepancy between his exclusion and his ranking in the final results raised serious concerns about the survey's methodology and potential manipulation. Representative Dan Fernandez of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, echoed Marcoleta's concerns and pledged to invite the SWS to provide further explanation during the next phase of the House inquiry. As of press time, GMA Integrated News had yet to receive a statement from the SWS in response to the allegations
