The training will equip Filipino workers who go abroad with essential knowledge on consumer protection, credit management, and debt avoidance to help them safeguard their earnings. Meanwhile, HB 10959 provides a 50 percent discount on remittance fees for funds sent to the Philippines by OFWs. “Additionally, it mandates prior consultation with the Department of Finance, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and the Department of Migrant Workers before any increases in remittance fees, ensuring transparency and accountability,” he added.
