House leader seeks to lower minimum height requirement for cops, firemen, and jail guards
He described as “discriminatory” the height requirements enforced for those who want to serve in the PNP, BFP, and BJMP.
Villafuerte recently filed House Bill No. 7520 or the proposed “PNP, BFP, BJMP, and BuCor Height Equality Act” to simply repeal the minimum height requirements for applicants to the PNP, BFP, and the BJMP. Under the law, for the applicants to be admitted in the PNP, men and women need to be at least 1.62 meters and 1.57 meters tall, respectively.
