Officials from the House of Representatives led by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco met with Japan’s House of Representatives International Affairs Department Director General Yamamoto Hironori and the rest of their counterparts on Monday in Tokyo.A statement from the Office of Speaker Martin Romualdez issued Tuesday said the senior officials from both countries engaged in a productive exchange of best practices in legislation.
Yamamoto, for his part, said sharing of best practices with the Philippines is most welcome given Japan’s deep friendship and a long history of cooperation with the Philippines built on mutual respect and a shared goal of legislative excellence.
