Honor medical professionals, OFWs on Nat’l Heroes Day — prelates
Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos said people should honor called the medical professionals as modern day heroes who put their own safety on the line to save lives amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“They are modern day heroes whom we have to appreciate and be grateful for; whom we have to emulate and imitate. They are heroes who are silent, not resorting to publicity; sincere, not corrupt,” added Santos. “Through the years we have seen the sacrifices and services of our OFWs for the betterment of their families; their financial contributions maintain our fragile economy,” Santos said.
In those countries where they are, Santos said OFWs show what is best in the Filipino: “Our smiles, our strong faith in God and resiliency.”
