Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) has revealed the facelifted HR-V, now powered by a hybrid system and boasting several key upgrades. The new HR-V e:HEV features a sleeker design, a revamped interior with wireless connectivity and charging, and advanced driver-assistance features.

Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) has finally previewed the facelifted HR-V , confirming the now-electrified subcompact crossover’s imminent arrival. Naturally, you might be wondering: What exactly is new with this facelift? Today was just a preview, but we can already answer that question. We have more than just an answer—we have a few. We’ll run down the most notable changes in the new Honda HR-V e:HEV, some of which are standard across the lineup. Read on, and tell us what you think.

The hybrid powertrain is the most significant change, as this is the first time Honda has introduced a hybrid system to its local lineup for the HR-V. This system is different from what the hybrid Civic and CR-V have and consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor that together put out 129hp and 253Nm of torque. This provides comparable horsepower to the non-hybrid variants but significantly more torque than before. Fuel consumption is also impressive, at an estimated 23.2km/L. Other notable design changes include a sleeker front clip with fewer lines on the front fascia and a mesh trim under the wide front grille. The HR-V e:HEV also gets new-look 18-inch, two-tone alloy wheels. The new Honda HR-V e:HEV RS is now available with a Sand Khaki Pearl finish, a color previously seen in the BR-V. The Honda badge on the e:HEV variant is now also highlighted with blue, just like the other hybrid Hondas. The HR-V now offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as wireless charging. For the first time in HR-V history, it now gets a power tailgate, complete with a kick sensor and a walk-away function. Note that this feature is exclusive to the top-spec hybrid RS trim. When you shift to reverse, the HR-V e:HEV’s side mirrors will automatically tilt downwards, giving drivers a clearer view of what’s behind them. This will make backing into any parking area a cinch. Finally, Honda has added rear parking sensors, a welcome addition that was previously missing. These sensors are now standard across the range. As we mentioned previously, we still have no final prices for the new Honda HR-V e:HEV or the other variants—we’ll have to wait until March for that. We do know it’ll be priced between P1.6 and P1.9 million, so there’s that.
