A dingo “meant business” when it attacked a child on K’gari, having likely seen the small boy as prey, according to an experienced ranger on the Queensland island. 7NEWS
Watch the latest news and stream for free onIt has been revealed the boy was playing in the sand with his nine-year-old brother near the remote Ocean Lake camp site just before the attack.“It looks like the dingo has taken advantage at that stage and pounced on the child in the proximity of the parents,” said K’Gari’s acting ranger-in-charge Linda Behrendorff.
“And I guess a young child, five years of age, is a similar size to a swamp wallaby or some of their prey.7NEWS “I’m not saying it deliberately saw the child as a food source, but there are all of these things that come into play in these situations.”It has not been identified and it’s not known if it will be euthanised.Your cookie settings are preventing this third party content from displaying.
