Large hailstones, heavy rainfall and damaging winds are forecast to thrash parts of the state this afternoon and into the evening.
Footage showed the thunderstorm cloud ominously rolling over the Blue Mountains in the state's Central Tablelands while the rest of the sky was perfectly blue. "These troughs are providing favourable conditions for severe thunderstorm development over southeast NSW this afternoon."
