The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting the western parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Sunday and will bring rain showers over several areas, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Quezon, Batangas, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur.Meanwhile, a low pressure area may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the day, according to PAGASA weather forecaster Benison Estareja in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.
"May binabantayang LPA sa labas ng PAR na nasa layong 990 km, silangan ng Mindanao... Posible itong pumasok pero hindi ito inaasahang magla-landfall," Estareja said.
